Villard de Borchgrave: Poetry Comforts Wounded Vets

By    |   Wednesday, 27 November 2013 11:34 PM EST

Alexandra Villard de Borchgrave, the founder and CEO of the Light of Healing Hope Foundation, has published a series of books for people such as wounded veterans and their families who are need of comfort.

Villard de Borchgrave's first book, "Healing Light: Thirty Messages of Love, Hope and Courage,"  was written for families who had lost loved ones on 9/11, she explains in an exclusive interview with Newmax TV.

She has now written a total of three books designed to bring hope and encouragement to those who have suffered pain and loss, and has also created a foundation so the books can be more easily distributed to those who need the kind of comfort they offer.

"We created the foundation to bring these books to especially wounded veterans at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Fisher House, the Wounded Warrior Project because we have heard from the chaplains in particular that the wives, the mothers, the daughters, the sisters, all of those who give our wonderful wounded veterans the support, care that they need also need comfort and inspiration just as the wounded vets themselves, need it," Villard de Borchgrave tells Newsmax.

Dr. Milton Corn, Deputy Director for Research and Education at the National Institute for Health, recently said of Villard de Borchgrave's poems that they "bring a sense of hope and comfort more precious than any drug."

"And so this is what we're trying to do, is to bring that sense of comfort to someone who is suffering so that they can find a zone of peace and tranquility without necessarily the use of drugs to help them get there." Villard de Borchgrave added.

The Light of Healing Hope Foundation has now put out a DVD called "Light of Healing Hope: Peaceful Meditations" that combines Villard de Borchgrave's poetry with classical music.
