A group of Republican Latinos mostly of Mexican descent in swing-state Arizona want President Donald Trump reelected mostly because of his business-oriented policies and anti-abortion stance, reports The Washington Post.

Hispanics will likely make up 13 percent of voters in November and while a majority of that group routinely votes Democrat, Trump leads Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden among Hispanic voters in Florida, 50 percent to 46 percent, in an NBC News/Marist poll.

In Texas, nearly 38 percent of Hispanics say they support Trump while 29 percent in Arizona back the president.

Like most American voters, Hispanics rate the economy as the top issue in the election — 80 percent according to a recent Pew Research survey.

Reymondu Torres, a Mexican American Trump supporter and president of the Arizona Latino Republican Association, told the Post Latino entrepreneurs have a lot to gain from a “free, robust economy” with lower taxes and the free trade agreement between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, negotiated under the president.

Rudolfo Peña, a registered Democrat and contract construction worker in Arizona, told the news outlet the Democratic Party has shifted way too far to the left.

“I just don’t want to have to jump through so many hoops and endless paperwork to be able to make a living while Democrats willingly prefer to help those who don’t follow the rules,” Peña said.
