The New York Daily News on Tuesday ran a
splash headline accusing the 47 Republican senators who wrote an
open letter to Iran as "traitors."
The senators threatened in a letter that any deal negotiated would not be valid without the approval of Congress and would likely expire by the time the president leaves office.
Democrats are furious at the move, which they say will undermine the negotiations and put in peril any bipartisan deals in Congress to approve or amend Obama's deal once it is signed.
"The decision to undercut our president and circumvent our constitutional system offends me as a matter of principle," Vice President
Joe Biden said in a statement.
