Snoop Dogg has shared that he has "nothing but love and respect" for Donald Trump.
The rapper's surprising comments come years after he was locked in a feud with the former president.
"Donald Trump? He ain't done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me," Snoop Dogg said in an interview with the British newspaper The Times.
He then referenced the time when Trump "pardoned Michael Harris," the co-founder of Snoop's first label, Death Row, who was in prison on drug offenses, according to The Independent.
"So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump," he said.
In previous years, Snoop Dogg had frequently criticized Trump's views. In 2017, he sparked backlash from the former president by releasing a music video for "Lavender" featuring BADBADNOTGOOD.
The video depicted him pointing a gun at a clown resembling Trump revealing a red "BANG" flag when he pulled the trigger. Trump's lawyer said he was "shocked" and demanded an apology, with Trump even suggesting Snoop be arrested.
That same year, he released a track titled "Make America Crip Again," a play on Trump's campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again."
"The president said he wants to make America great again. [Expletive] that [expletive], we're going to make America crip again," he said in the opening line of the track.
The Crips, also known as the Original Crip Homies, were primarily an African-American gang established in Los Angeles in 1969.
"Certain people feel like we should make America 'great again,' but that time they're referring to always takes me back to separation and segregation, so I'd rather Make America Crip Again," Snoop Dogg said in a statement at the time.
"What I mean by that is, in my lifetime, that's when young Black men in impoverished areas organized to help their communities and to take care of their own because society basically left them for dead."
