A big-rig truck hauling a trailer full of toilet paper to San Antonio, Texas crashed and caught on fire early Wednesday morning just outside of Dallas in Hutchins, Texas according to the state’s Department of Transportation.
“No April Fools joke! A Semi carrying industrial size toilet paper overturned and caught fire WB I-20 at I-45 in Dallas. The driver is ok,” local ABC affiliate WFAA’s Mike Forbes tweeted on Wednesday, April 1, along with a video of the scene.
According to Fox San Antonio, the driver was en route to the city from Alabama when he dozed off while looking for a rest stop. He and his dog, Moochie, both survived the crash. The driver reportedly told police that he’s never been involved in an incident like this in 20 years of driving trucks, but said he will probably look for a new occupation.
TxDOT said that the toilet paper, which was in large rolls used in businesses, “burned extensively,” and took “some time” to clean.
