President Donald Trump filed for an extension on his 2016 tax returns, NBC News reports.
The deadline to file for taxes was April 17.
Trump's tax returns have come under a great deal of scrutiny. He said during the campaign he would release his returns after the IRS had finished auditing them but then backed off once he took office.
The State of California is looking to pass a bill that would make it mandatory for presidential candidates to disclose their tax returns in order to get on the presidential primary ballot.
CNN also reported the story.
