The families of two FBI agents shot and killed in South Florida will have their mortgages paid off by Tunnel to Towers.
The group is a non-profit organization that began supporting Gold Star families through $11 donations, according to Fox News.
CEO Frank Stiller made his announcement regarding the slain FBI agents on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” on Friday.
“It's so sad that so many of our law enforcement personnel to give up their lives,” he said.
“Just in the last few days, you had the two FBI agents that you just spoke of. We had a police officer just killed in New Mexico, just buried a deputy in Sacramento. And, of course, a police officer was just killed in Mississippi.
“We have to take care of these families that are left behind. They’re out their giving us our freedoms are our safe streets.”
FBI special agents Laura Schwartzenberger and Daniel Alfin were killed on Tuesday while serving a warrant related to crimes against children at an apartment complex in Sunrise, Florida., the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.
The gunman, David Lee Huber, 55, then killed himself.
