Kentucky State Police say four people have been killed in a small plane crash and a 7-year-old girl apparently survived and walked away from the wreckage.
Sgt. Dean Patterson of the Kentucky State Police says a disoriented 7-year-old girl walked to a home and reported that she had been involved in a plane crash. The resident called 911 and the girl was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities found the aircraft a couple of hours later and confirmed that the pilot and three other passengers were killed.
Kathleen Bergen of the FAA says air traffic controllers lost contact with a Piper PA-34 as it was flying over Marshall County in the southwestern part of the state. The pilot had reported engine problems.
