Contacts between Russia and the United States are the beginning of a long and difficult process of restoring relations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Thursday, Russian news agencies reported.

It is premature to draw "far-reaching conclusions" about Russia-U.S. relations based on these contacts, Ryabkov said.
